After seeing my Dad change his blog using the Flexibility3 theme I decided I wanted to bring mine up to date too.

Even though my blog is only just over a year old, in the fast changing world of the internet it already looked a bit outdated and run down. So I followed my Dad’s video and installed the new theme, got a new header graphic created by Steve at GFX-1 and tweaked some of the many settings than you can tweak to make the blog how I wanted it to be and I’m sure you’ll agree that its looking awesome.

The Flexibility3 theme is free to download and install and can instantly bring your blog up to date, the theme is constantly being updated by its creators so it is unlikely to become outdated any time soon so if you feel as if your blog could do with a bit of a spruce up, then this is definitely the theme to use.

So feel free to have a look around and tell me what you think, I still have a few things to change and add but it should be 100% done pretty soon.

This has been a quick post but I just wanted to let you guys know how to get a blog like mine and how I did it.

Here is the link to the theme again just in case: Flexibility3 Theme

Until Next Time

Recently my Dad has been running some Warrior Special Offers, his most recent one being a joint offer with Dave Nicholson, the product in question was a product called Multi Profit Monthly which normally costs $47 per month for 12 Months.

So because I didn’t know a thing about WSO’s I assumed that would be how much he was selling it for on the special offer, then it occurred to me that it wouldn’t be much of a “special offer” if it was just the same price as the regular product. So I asked him how much Dave and himself would be making the 12 months of training available for and they said it would only cost $5, so whoever takes advantage of the offer will be receiving 12 months worth of training for the price of 7 days (I had to use a calculator for that part)

By the way if you want to take a look at the WSO you can see it here.

I was confused why they were making the price so low so I asked, and I’m going to share the answer with you.

My Dad said that by making the price so low they will ultimately make more money on the backend, as more people are willing to spend a measly $5 than fork out nearly $50×12. So although you may make more money per sale for a $50 product, you will ultimately make more sales of the lower value product, which means you will have more people subscribing to your list and more people will see your up-sell and down-sell and that is where the real money is made.

Another plus side to having an up-sell in place is that affiliates will come on board if there is a chance for them to earn good money, and when there is an up-sell in place there is more chance they will help promote the frontend offer. There were some huge affiliates on board for this offer, Names you will probably recognize such as Mike Filsaime, Jim Cockrum, Michael Cheney, Omar Martin, Alex Jeffreys, Mike Steup, Dave Lovelace, Dan Sumner, Randy Smith, Tommy McLaughlin, Edson Buchanan, Richard Legg, Lee McIntyre, Marc Milburn amongst a few.

If you are interested in creating your own WSO but aren’t sure how, don’t worry my Dad is currently creating a product that can teach you everything you need to know about creating a successful Warrior Special Offer, the product is called “WSO Domination” and should be completed by the end of the month so keep a look out for it. I am currently helping him put everything together by working on getting the info Dad has created into a Keynote Presentation and I must say the info I have seen so far has been amazing.

I think this is my first post in which I’ve shared what I’ve learned simply by asking my Dad a question so hopefully I have passed a little bit of his Yoda like wisdom onto you, do with it what you will and remember, you can check out his amazing $5 WSO here.

Until Next Time,

Facebook is a website that was launched in February 2004 for social networking, on the site itself you create a personal profile and can then add your friends, family or work colleagues and “network.”

Facebook provides many ways for you to connect and share your experiences and whatever else you like with your friends etc, for example you can post messages to your own and your friends’ “wall” you can share photos and videos, you can chat using the internal instant messaging system, you can send private messages using the private inbox system, you can even play games with your friends and so Much more.

Creating a Facebook account couldn’t be simpler, just go to facebook.com and sign up by entering the requested details.

You can then add a profile picture so your friends can recognize you when they are trying to add you. You can then start adding your friends and family by simply searching for there name in the search bar at the top of the page. Facebook will also suggest people you may know based on a number of factors and you can even find people by using your email address and cell phone contacts, Facebook makes it very easy to find people you know.

Facebook can be used for more than just keeping in touch with friends, it is also a very powerful business tool, purely because of the vast amounts of free traffic that is available. Facebook has over 500 Million active users so if you create a page for your business it could be seen by Millions of people, now I’m not saying that its definitely going to happen but the potential is there.

If you run a business and you have Facebook page for that business there is all sorts of actions you can take to promote your business to the masses and get your name out there. There are also tons of things you can do for existing customers who are visiting your Facebook page such as provide them with updates and special offers etc. The possibilities really are endless. So if you haven’t already created a page for your business and you would like to, then you can do so quickly, easily and not to mention free, Here.

Facebook is constantly becoming increasingly popular, so there has never been a better time to create an account, whether it is for your business or service or for yourself, now is the time to get yourself online and start networking.

Until Next Time,

Facebook is a wonderful tool for both personal and business use. It has many features which allow you to personalize your Facebook experience.

One of the features that allows you to further enjoy Facebook is, Facebook Apps.

Facebook apps are very similar to applications that you would have on your mobile (cell) phone or your computer, there are apps that are games, tools and pretty much everything you could think of.

However most Facebook apps promote themselves by posting to your wall without you having any input. These apps are called “self replicating applications” now like I’ve mentioned, not all apps do this, but the ones that do can be quite annoying to both you and your friends.

There is a simple way to make sure this does not happen though. When you activate and app there is a box that appears that asks if you give permission to the app to do certain things, one of which is to post to your wall, Like so.

To stop the app posting to your wall just click “Don’t Allow” then try to find an app that does the same thing but does not request permission to post to your wall.

Now I know that these apps do these to get more people using their app but there are plenty of apps out there that promote themselves in other ways and I’m sure you could find one to do anything you like without wanting to post to your wall.

Until Next Time, Alex

I’ve finally realized how much hard work goes into creating a product.

The last couple of months in the office have been non stop hard work, preparing everything for the launch of my Dads latest product, Affiliate Promo Formula. Despite the severe weather we have been having recently in Britain and his car being stuck on the driveway, we have managed to get into the office and carry on working as usual.

I can honestly say I have never seen my Dad put so much hard work into a product and I have no doubt that this is going to be one of, if not the best product he has ever created. This is the first time I have been able to truly see what goes into creating a product and for any of you guys out there who think it is easy, think again. Weeks and weeks of toiling away in front of a computer and a video camera have gone into this awesome product.

Luckily my Dad has two wonderful slaves, oops I mean sons, to help him with stuff such as transcribing audios, creating keynotes and producing videos, Dad has even had Dave Nicholson in on the act who came over to the office and spent a total of at least 45 hours creating graphics for the product.

You’re probably by now wondering what the Affiliate Promo Formula is. Well, it is a complete guide to becoming a super affiliate. It is an eyeopening look at developing a formula for dominating JV leader boards and earning massive affiliate commissions.

I simply cannot stress enough how much time and effort has gone into this product to make it as good as it can possibly be, it is the most-complete affiliate training package out there and is perfect for experts and beginners alike. Even if you do not have a mailing list Dad has got that covered.

The Affiliate Promo Formula launches on the 14th of December and as long as you’re on one of Dad’s list you’ll be sure to hear about it.

Just in case you didn’t know, my Dad covers everything he knows about creating a product in his Masterclass Program and he actually created Affiliate Promo Formula right in front of his students eyes.

Until Next Time,

Today I’m writing this blog post in the office on my brand new iMac, as you have probably guessed already my Dad and I are big fans of Apple products and considering we use computers everyday why not use an Apple computer. Its just a shame Apple don’t make tea kettles

Now Following on in my general theme of Apple based posts I’d like to share with you their latest revelation, which my Dad seems to think doesn’t fit with their normal marketing genius. Apple have announced launches of FOUR brand new products, yes that’s right FOUR. A new iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, iPod Touch and Apple TV all at the same time. Now your probably wondering why my Dad thinks this is a bad thing, maybe it’s because he was telling me this after he had been out for a drink and a curry with Lee McIntyre and Dave Nicholson and was slightly drunk

Or maybe, just maybe he actually knows what he is talking about, but anyway he said, and I agree with him if I am honest, that Apple, and anyone for that matter, could make a lot more money by launching these products at separate times, for example if you are a bit of a connoisseur of technology you would most likely be interested in all of these releases. Therefore, if Apple first released the new iPod Shuffle (cheapest) and you bought it and then they released the new iPod Nano, a more expensive but considerably better iPod, the chances are you would be interested in purchasing one, unless that’s just me but you can see where I’m going with this, I know if had multiple good products I have just created I would want to launch them separately:

Because the chances are I would make more money from separate launches.

Because then people would see I have successfully created more than one product over a longer period of time.

So again, this is something else I have learned simply by observing how a big company goes about its business, so keep your eyes open as you never know what lessons you may may come across.

Until next time.

Alex

P.S. On a final note Apple are a mega huge company and they know what they are doing but I still feel they made a mistake with this one.

So I finally got my hands on an iPhone 4 after queuing up for an hour outside of the Apple store on launch day only to be told that they had ran out of stock, I’ve finally managed to get an iPhone 4, whilst at the store we were able to sign up for a priority mailing list whereby we would receive an email alerting us when the store had restocked.

I must say, not being able to purchase one on release day certainly made me want one more and I was thrilled when I finally received my email alert. So on Friday the 9th of July me and Dad made our way to Newcastle, and surprise, surprise we left the store with more than what we’d went for.

Maybe you’ve noticed, but usually when a person is shopping, online or in a store, sometimes it can take a while before they actually purchase the first item, but after that initial purchase suddenly you enter a different mindset, you’re in a buying mood, and it is at this time that it will happen. Up-sells are offers made to a customer when they are in that buying mood, and you see it all over in the internet marketing world.

With most things you can buy, the manufacturers will usually also release accessories for the initial item, and 9 times out of 10 if you’ve bought the initial item, you will want to buy some sort of accessory.

When Apple release a new product they normally also release many accessories to either protect, improve or manipulate their original product and the same applies to the iPhone 4 and why we left the store with more than we’d went for, to give the iPhone a little extra protection apple release a rubber bumper that surrounds the phone making it so that if you were to ever drop the phone no matter which way it fell it would land on the bumper. Sure enough we left with one of those each too

So next time your launching a product, try and think of something you could offer after the initial sale and catch your customer whilst they are in that buying mood.

Until next time.

Alex.

Sometimes you can learn a lot by watching a product launch, product launches are much the same across all forms of products, be it the latest movie, an authors new book and even Apple’s brand new iPhone 4.

All of the three mentioned above are launched in much the same way as you would launch your product online, and they generally do three things.

Build a buzz, I have noticed this especially applies to movie launches, most of the time movies are announced weeks, sometimes months before they are released, and it works I don’t know how many times I’ve been watching TV and an ad for the latest movie has came on and I’ve actually been excited about seeing it when its finally released at the cinema.

Build excitement, nearer the release date excitement is built in the form of more TV ads, more info, billboards etc. Or in your case with pre-launch emails, for those of you who are into teenage wizardry you will have noticed this with the release of the latest Harry Potter book, near the release date there was a lot of excitement surrounding the book and that was achieved by 1. An already popular product 2. A hunger for more information (what happens next)

Scarcity, Scarcity is an amazingly powerful tool, if you know that you only have a limited time to get something the chances are you will want it more, this applies to Apple’s latest gadget the iPhone 4, I know how much scarcity can affect a buyers mind because I am experiencing it right now, because for those of you who don’t know the iPhone 4 launches in the UK on Thursday 24th of June, now my local Apple store opens at 8am and believe me I will be there long before the shutters go up to try and get my hands on one, and I’m sure I won’t be alone.

All of the above can be applied to you product launches online and there are plenty of products out there which can show you how to do it.

So next time you see a Movie trailer, a book commercial, or a new piece of gadget mastery, just remember it’s all marketing, so watch carefully and you can learn a thing or two.

Until next time,

This week at the office has been quite eventful, the sun has been shining here in sunny ol’ England and lunch by the river has been a daily occurrence.

The office is a brand new development situated on the site of an old Sunderland ship yard. Not many people know but Sunderland was once the largest shipbuilding town in the world, and although that industry is long gone it has been replaced by another one, car manufacturing. The Nissan plant is the most productive car plant in Europe which just goes to show we still know what we’re doing

But anyway, lately Dad has been working with a student on a personal level, I’m not going to reveal his name yet, but for the purposes of this blog post we will call him… “Student X”. Student X has been coming into the office a few days a week to receive personal one on one support and he seems to be really enjoying it. Although I’m not a big fan of having to make an extra cup of tea

Another thing about this week which I have been thoroughly enjoying is following my Dad’s MasterClass something which until this week I had never considered doing, but as I said in my last post I was driven to it by boredom, and I’m so glad I did. As you will probably have noticed I now have my graphics up and I think you will agree they look pretty awesome (nice one Steve) so I’ve decided I’m going to continue to follow the course, and who knows where I could end up.

Well that’s it for this post, some of us have helpdesk tickets to answer , so if your ever drifting down the river Wear keep an eye out for me and my Dad (sausage roll in hand)

Until next time,

Alex

Hi and welcome to my blog which I have just set-up today, it has taken me no longer than two hours to create and I have done it all on my own by following my Dad’s MasterClass videos.

If you haven’t already guessed by the name my Dad is well known Internet Marketer John Thornhill, now I have been working for my Dad for some time after deciding that the course I was studying at college just wasn’t for me. I had been running the PlanetSMS Helpdesk for quite a few months previous but I had to fit it around my college work which wasn’t ideal. So a couple of months ago I decided to leave college and come and work for my Dad full time in his office, using my computer for something other than online games, and its in that office now where I’m sitting writing this post.

When I came into work today I had no intention of creating a blog, but when I had finished my daily tasks (including kettle duty) and answered all the Helpdesk tickets I was stuck for things to do. So I decided to create this blog and get posting and in just a couple of hours I have already covered the first 3 weeks of the Masterclass course.

So now Ive come to the conclusion that blogging really isn’t all that hard, well at least not so far, but I still need to learn to monetize it, and that’s where Dad comes in

So that’s it for my first post don’t forget to keep checking back for more posts and office antics

Alex,
